Western Trail Riding Services - Providing trail rides for new and experienced riders.

Trail Rides in Sunol Regional Wilderness - Open all year around (weather permitting) Due to the bridge replacement some of our rides at Sunol are temporarily discontinued until the project is complete. However, we have added 2 new rides to our offerings. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Valley Loop -

This introductory horseback riding experience provides a delightful circuit of the Valley floor. Please note: parents may be required to walk next to their child for the duration of the trail ride should the wrangler deem it necessary. Approximately 25-30 minute trail ride.
$30 per person
Ages 5 years & older less than 240 lbs.

Shady Lane -

Travel a beuatiful quiet path following Alameda Creek downstream crossing the creek each direction.
Approximately 1-hour trail ride.
$45 per person
MUST be 54 inches or taller and less than 240 lbs

Little Yosemite - (DISCONTINUED UNTIL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT IS COMPLETE

Ride along the scenic gorge towards Little Yosemite about 2 miles upstream, crossing the creek each direction. Approximately 1-hour trail ride.
$45 per person
MUST be 54 inches or taller and less than 240 lbs.

Live Oak Tree-

Ride along Alameda Creek through the live oak trees.
Approximately 1.5 hour trail ride.
$55 per person
Ages 12 years & older and less than 240 lbs.

Ride along Alameda Creek past past the scenic gorge known as Little Yosemite to the infamous "W" Tree at the park boundary.
Approximately 2-hour trail ride.

Flagg Hill

Get a stupendous view of almost anywhere! After fording Alameda Creek, follow Hayfield Road through oak-studded grasslands past High Valley Barn to the prominence Flagg Hill.
Approximately a two hour ride.

Cerro Estes - (DURING BRIDGE REPLACEMENT - THIS RTE HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY ALTERED)

Soar with the Eagles! This is our only loop ride. Follow Hayfield Road to the summit of Cerro Estes. This ride winds through open cattle range past a turtle pond to Little Yosemite.
Approximately a two and a half hour ride.
$65 per person
Ages 12 years & older /less than 240 lbs.
Experienced riders.

McGuire Peaks

Our most picturesque ride: redwood trees, eucalyptus giants, old home sites, sweeping vistas of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, wildflowers, and more!
Approximately a four hour ride.
